The story behind

Inge, my grandmother, had a dream in the 1970s of entering the workforce - and like me, she loved clothes, colors, and prints. I never got to meet her, but her story has deeply inspired me.

Inge was a mother of four and saw how much clothing was used by herself and her children in a very limited timespan. She dreamed of organizing clothes systematically and became one of the first in Denmark to start a quality secondhand shop named "Svikmøllen."

A "Svikmølle" is a strategic position in the board game Checkers, where a single piece can be used repeatedly for multiple purposes. With her shop, Inge aimed to create the opportunity for clothes to change - like a "Svikmølle" - position and therefore give them renewed joy.

Inspired by Inge, I strive to maximize the use of materials by creating designs with multiple functions. In this way, I hope, like Inge, to extend the lifespan of my products.

I hope she would be proud that the torch has been passed on to me.

Welcome to Svikmølle.

Slow-made products - created with sustainability in mind:

Svikmølle is a small business located in Copenhagen. Everything is handcrafted, designed, and packaged by me - Signe Storm. Each product is made with a lot of time, love, and joy for craftsmanship - and with a burning desire for my handmade products to bring joy to others.

I am aware that we live in a world where fashion is dominated by trends, leading to overconsumption of textiles. Therefore, with my slow-made products, I strive to be very conscious of only producing in the quantities I can sell - and to make the most of my materials. Thus, Svikmølle is created with the idea of making products that have multiple functions - so they can be styled and used in various ways - hopefully bringing joy that lasts longer than other products on the market.
